A Tender Tumult: The Art of David Storey

The drawings behind a life in writing.

My role: Direction, Editor

David Storey is known for his novels and plays, but drawing remained a continuous part of his life. This film accompanies The Hepworth Wakefield's 2016 exhibition, which brought more than four hundred small works into public view.

The gallery's long sequences of drawings reveal an intimate, sustained practice alongside the books, theatre and films for which the Wakefield-born writer became known.
