Kite Strings

Written and directed by Kirsty Patrick Ward, Kite Strings follows Kat as she struggles to care for her mother, Heather, whose dementia is slowly erasing the life they once shared.

The film finds its emotion in small gestures and silence. The edit stays close to Kat's point of view, giving the performances and familiar domestic routines room to breathe. Cinematography is by Josh White, production design by Isobel Baker-Smith, with an original score by One Orchestra.
