Stanley Spencer: Of Angels and Dirt

Made for The Hepworth Wakefield's 2016 exhibition, the film follows Spencer's family through a survey of his paintings. Personal recollections bring another perspective to the self-portraits, landscapes and densely populated scenes.

Of Angels and Dirt brought together more than seventy works, exploring the way Spencer connected religion and ordinary life, intimacy and labour. The exhibition marked the 125th anniversary of his birth.
