HydraSense: Particle Development
A particle library and underwater sequence for the Ninja HydraSense water-filter film.
My role: Creative Direction, Motion Direction, AI Generation, Workflow Design
The Ninja HydraSense film travels from a glass of water into a close view of the particles suspended within it. The work centred on building the particle library and the environment for that sequence.
Microscopic references and molecular structures informed the designs for microplastics, lead, PFAS and other contaminants. Shape research came before compositing, with variations developed across form, surface and condition.
Scale was adjusted deliberately so different particle and molecular forms could be seen together. Consistent lighting, water and depth brought the separate elements into one space, connected to the live-action pouring shot.
The library, environment development and transition work were my responsibility. The three water-journey clips show the shots supplied for approval; the wider particle designs and workflow images show how that sequence was developed.
